Seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist to support a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment in Indianapolis, IN. This role offers a temp-to-hire opportunity with an initial 13-week assignment and the potential for direct hire. The position focuses on delivering accurate pharmaceutical care while complying with all legal and regulatory standards.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Possible Saturdays based on operational needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications following prescription orders
- Provide thorough medication counseling to patients, including guidance on proper use and potential side effects
- Review physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of prescribed therapy
- Monitor drug regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to enhance patient outcomes and medication adherence
- Maintain precise patient records covering medication histories and interventions
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
- Manage proper medication storage and identify expired or damaged products
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
- Assist with inventory management including ordering and stocking supplies
- Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries and promoting pharmacy services
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice through ongoing professional education
Qualifications and Experience:
- PharmD degree required
- Indiana Pharmacy License mandatory
- Minimum 1 to 3 years experience in retail pharmacy
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (cost assistance provided)
- Ability to travel up to 5%
