This position offers an opportunity for a Staff Pharmacist to contribute pharmaceutical expertise within a closed-door mail order pharmacy environment. The role is part-time with shifts available Monday through Friday from 8am to 9pm (1st or 2nd shift), with occasional Saturdays based on operational needs. The assignment spans approximately 13 weeks and is temp-to-direct-hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders while ensuring patient safety.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions.
- Review and interpret physician orders to confirm therapy appropriateness.
- Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, and duplication.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to enhance patient medication adherence and outcomes.
- Maintain detailed patient records including medication histories and allergy information.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Manage proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals, including expired product monitoring.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with inventory management including ordering and stocking.
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in pharmacy practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required.
- Indiana Pharmacy License required.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in retail pharmacy.
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (support provided).
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
- Strong communication skills and high attention to detail.
- Capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
