As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Part-Time, 1st or 2nd shift (8:00 AM – 9:00 PM), Monday through Friday, with possible Saturdays based on need
Job Type: Temporary to Direct Hire (approximately 13 weeks)
Environment: Closed Door Mail Order Pharmacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispense medications according to prescription orders
- Provide thorough medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper use and potential side effects
- Review and interpret physician orders to confirm accuracy and appropriateness of therapy
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, and duplications
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient adherence and therapeutic outcomes
- Maintain precise patient records, including medication histories and allergy information
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations
- Ensure proper storage and handling of medications, monitoring for expired or damaged stock
- Participate in pharmacy quality assurance and continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Deliver excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and resolving issues
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with pharmacy practice advancements
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree required
- 1 to 3 years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Indiana Pharmacy License required
- California Pharmacy License preferred or willingness to reciprocate (assistance with costs provided)
- Ability to travel up to 5% as needed
