Pharmacist in Ingram, TX

A hospital pharmacist opportunity is available at a 120-bed community hospital near Kerrville, TX. This contract role is ideal for a professional with a Texas pharmacist license and hospital experience, ready to bring expert pharmaceutical care to a dynamic healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, dispense, and review medications in a hospital environment.
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure safe and effective medication use.
• Utilize Meditech and MedKeeper systems for medication management and IV preparation.
• Manage inventory and operate Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets.
• Provide patient counseling and support clinical decision-making.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and safety standards.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday day shifts with possible start times at 7:00 am, 8:00 am, or 9:00 am.
• Coverage required every 4th weekend.
• Flexibility to shift to a 2nd shift (11:45 am - 10:15 pm, 10-hour shifts) may be necessary as the contract evolves.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas pharmacist license.
• Solid experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records system.
• Experience with MedKeeper and Omnicell dispensing technology preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
• Adaptability to varied shift schedules.
