Pharmacist in Ingram, TX

A hospital in Kerrville, TX, is seeking a pharmacist with strong clinical expertise to support their medication management and patient care services. This 120-bed community hospital requires a candidate with a solid background in hospital pharmacy operations, preferably with decentralized ICU experience, to enhance their clinical team.

Location: Kerrville, TX
Job Type: Contract (13 weeks+)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday day shifts
• Shift start times: 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM
• Coverage every 4th weekend
• Potential to transition to second shift (11:45 AM – 10:15 PM, 10-hour shifts)
• Flexibility in scheduling is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense and verify medications accurately in a hospital setting
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize pharmacological therapies, with an emphasis on critical care expertise
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards
• Utilize Meditech Pharmacy System, MedKeeper for IV management, and Omnicell automated dispensing technologies
• Participate in clinical decision-making processes and support patient safety initiatives

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Texas pharmacist license
• Demonstrated hospital pharmacy experience, with preference for decentralized ICU exposure
• Familiarity with clinical pharmacy systems and technology (Meditech, MedKeeper, Omnicell)
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and workload demands
