A specialty pharmacy in Louisiana seeks an experienced pharmacist to provide dedicated coverage while the current staff member is on maternity leave. This contract role offers a focused opportunity to support an established pharmacy team within a fast-paced environment processing approximately 600 prescriptions per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform typical staff pharmacist duties, ensuring safe and accurate dispensing of medications
• Support and collaborate with the existing staff pharmacist and pharmacy technician to maintain seamless pharmacy operations
• Utilize Epic Willow Ambulatory (Epic WAM) for order entry and dispensing processes
• Participate in a 1–2 week training period prior to coverage start date to become proficient with the dispensing system and workflows

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana pharmacist license in good standing is required
• Proven experience in specialty pharmacy or retail pharmacy settings
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a small, collaborative team

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• No weekend or on-call shifts required

Additional Details:

• Coverage period from early May through mid-August with a maternity leave due date of May 18th
• Dress code requires dark grey scrubs
• Pharmacy team includes 1 staff pharmacist, 1 pharmacy technician, and 1 pharmacy liaison, with technician support for prescription input, filling, and phone inquiries
