A healthcare opportunity is available for a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist at a premier medical installation in Jbsa Lackland, TX. This 13-week contract role offers the chance to apply specialized pharmacy expertise within a dynamic home infusion therapy setting. The schedule is from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, providing a consistent afternoon-evening shift ideal for those seeking structured hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients’ eligibility for home infusion therapy and develop tailored medication plans.
  • Prepare, verify, and dispense sterile medications adhering strictly to USP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure seamless continuity of patient care and monitor therapy outcomes.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and clinicians on medication use, infusion methods, and safety protocols.
  • Manage infusion pumps and related administration equipment while ensuring quality control and compliance.
  • Provide accurate drug information, maintain thorough documentation, and support medication safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas.
  • One or more of the following:
    • Minimum 1 year of sterile IV compounding experience.
    • Experience with non-sterile compounding, immunizations, and Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
    • Completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency.
    • Completion of an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE).
    • Equivalent pharmacy experience.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of home infusion practices.
  • Ability to interpret lab values and apply pharmacokinetic principles effectively.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
