Staff Pharmacist Direct Hire

Soliant is hiring a Staff Pharmacist for a direct hire opportunity in beautiful Southeast Alaska! This role offers a rare chance to combine meaningful clinical work with an unbeatable setting — think mountains, ocean, and endless outdoor adventure right outside your door.

This position works within the pharmacy department to ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious drug therapy. You'll prepare and distribute medications per federal and state law, counsel patients, and advise medical and nursing staff on drug therapy, all while helping maintain an appropriate drug inventory and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Review prescriptions for appropriateness, legality, interactions, allergies, and lab abnormalities
• Provide clinical consultation and resolve prescriber questions/concerns prior to dispensing
• Verify and fill prescription orders accurately with proper documentation
• Counsel patients on medications and expected outcomes
• Perform chart reviews for refills and medication therapy management
• Provide drug information and staff education; direct and verify pharmacy support staff activities
• Participate in quality control/improvement, formulary selection, and committee activities
• Support Long-Term Care consultant pharmacist functions when assigned (medication reviews, regulatory compliance, safety initiatives)

Qualifications:

• PharmD required (Bachelor of Pharmacy accepted if licensed before 2003, with 3+ years hospital/ambulatory pharmacy experience)
• Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any state
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (may be obtained within 1 year of hire)
• Clinical Competency required within 3 months of hire (renewed every 3 years)
• High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire (renewed annually)

Experience: Completion of an ASHP-recognized pharmacy residency preferred

Work Hours: Day shift, rotating weekends

Travel: Up to 10% travel required

Pay: $128,000–$183,000/year, based on experience
