Pharmacist - Katy, TX

A Pharmacist opportunity is available for an overnight shift at a women’s healthcare site specializing in pediatric and adult care. This contract position spans 14 weeks, beginning March 2, with a 7-on/7-off schedule from 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. The position utilizes EPIC EMR for medication management and documentation.

Location:

• Houston, TX – Pavilion for Women Site

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care by identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems and resolving actual issues.
• Ensuring appropriateness of medication doses relative to diagnosis, patient weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
• Accurately entering medication orders into the computer system with minimal error.
• Verifying medications dispensed are correct and processed within established guidelines.
• Adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards in sterile product preparation, including ensuring staff compliance and completing annual re-certification with a minimum score of 90%.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience; pediatric experience is preferred.
• Valid Texas Pharmacist license.
• ACPE IV Certification.
• Strong knowledge of medication dosing, drug interactions, and sterile preparation techniques.
