A well-established 300+ bed hospital and Level III trauma center in the Longview, TX area is seeking two Pharmacists to support their inpatient pharmacy team. This contract opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment with advanced technology, serving a diverse patient population in an acute care setting.

Schedule and Location:

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (day shift)
  • Potential for a blocked schedule option (e.g., 8 days on, 6 days off)
  • Longview, TX area
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks plus, possibility for a temp-to-hire arrangement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders with accuracy and clinical judgment
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow
  • Consult and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on patient medication therapies
  • Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitor drug therapies
  • Support emergency medicine and neonatal medication needs within the hospital pharmacy
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automation systems effectively

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and active Texas pharmacist license
  • Minimum of 1 year recent inpatient or clinical pharmacy experience
  • Proficiency with EPIC preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics, dosing adjustments, and neonatal medications
  • Experience in emergency medicine pharmacy practice is highly valued
