Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

A Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available to support skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, and hospice settings. This contract role offers a 1-month initial assignment with potential for extension, requiring 40 hours per week. The schedule aligns with pharmacy operating hours: Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 8 AM to 3 PM.

Key responsibilities include verifying orders processed by data entry technicians, ensuring accuracy of blister-packed medications, and checking both sterile and non-sterile preparations. The role involves answering clinical inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, offering expert guidance on pharmaceutical care. Duties also extend to controlled substance management through precise counting and documentation in the perpetual inventory, as well as checking emergency medication boxes.

The pharmacist will utilize pharmacy systems such as QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to maintain efficient workflow and compliance.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and use fine motor skills with good visual acuity; capable of lifting up to 30 pounds
