Pharmacist - Kittanning, Pennsylvania

A Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available in Kittanning, PA, offering a contract opportunity with a 1-month ongoing assignment and potential for extension. This role requires full-time commitment, working 40 hours per week, supporting the pharmacy during operational hours Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from 8 AM to 3 PM.

Key responsibilities include verifying orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. The pharmacist will be responsible for checking blister-packed medications, both sterile and non-sterile, and ensuring accuracy in dispensing. Handling phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical answers, and guidance is also essential. The role requires accurate counting and documentation of controlled substances in the perpetual inventory system and checking emergency medication boxes to maintain compliance and safety.

This position operates with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy management systems, so familiarity with these platforms is important.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; Long Term Care experience preferred
• Physical capability to sit and stand for extended periods, possess fine motor skills, visual acuity, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds
