Pharmacist - Kittanning, Pennsylvania

A Part-Time Long Term Care Pharmacist position is available for a contract assignment requiring 24 hours per week in Kittanning, PA. This role supports skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice clients by ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication orders and inventory management.

Schedule:

• 24 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care facilities
• Check blister-packed medications and sterile and non-sterile compounds for accuracy and compliance
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance as needed
• Count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory system
• Review and maintain emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Licensed and registered pharmacist in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum one year of pharmacist experience, long-term care experience preferred
• Physical capability to sit, stand, perform fine motor tasks, demonstrate visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds
