Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide essential pharmaceutical services in a contract-to-hire role. This position supports skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care by ensuring the accuracy and safety of medication distribution and answering clinical inquiries.

Location: Kittanning, PA
Assignment Type: 3-month contract to hire
Schedule/Hours:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders processed by data entry technicians for multiple care settings
• Inspect blister-packed medications, including sterile and non-sterile formulations
• Respond to phone calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance
• Accurately count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory
• Monitor and check emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Current licensure as a registered pharmacist in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board
• Minimum of 1 year pharmacist experience; experience in long-term care (LTC) preferred
• Ability to sit, stand, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity
• Capability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed
