Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

A pharmacist role is available with a contract-to-hire position located in Kittanning, PA. This opportunity offers the chance to work 40 hours per week within a supportive pharmacy environment serving skilled nursing facilities, personal care settings, and hospice care providers.

Location: Kittanning, PA
Schedule:

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  Assignment Timeline: 3-month contract to hire

Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions and medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy, specifically for long-term care facilities, personal care, and hospice.
• Inspect blister-packed medications along with sterile and non-sterile products to ensure compliance and quality.
• Respond professionally to incoming calls from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical inquiries.
• Perform accurate counts and documentation of controlled substances in the perpetual inventory.
• Review and maintain emergency medication boxes regularly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.
• Valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, with a preference for long-term care (LTC).
• Capable of sitting, standing, and utilizing fine motor skills with strong visual acuity. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds is necessary.
• Experience working with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems preferred.
