Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

A pharmacist opportunity is available for a contract assignment based in Kittanning, PA, with an initial duration of one month and potential extension or an 8-week contract considered. This role supports skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice services through diligent medication management and clinical support.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for various long-term care and hospice settings
• Inspect blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions promptly
• Count controlled substances and maintain accurate perpetual inventory documentation
• Review and maintain emergency medication boxes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Current and valid pharmacist license in Pennsylvania in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care (LTC)
• Strong fine motor skills, visual acuity, and physical ability to sit, stand, and lift up to 30 pounds
• Familiarity with QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems preferred
