Pharmacist | Kittanning, Pennsylvania

A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support medication services for skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care. This contract position is based in Kittanning, PA, with an assignment timeline of one month ongoing and potential extension, including consideration for an 8-week contract.

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week
• Pharmacy hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Sunday 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Check blister-packed and both sterile and non-sterile medications for quality and correctness.
• Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical answers as needed.
• Perform counting and documentation of controlled substances within the perpetual inventory system.
• Inspect and verify emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
• Utilize operating systems including QS1, Docutrack, and PCC to support daily pharmacy operations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience, with preference for long-term care (LTC).
• Ability to perform sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, and maintain visual acuity.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds when necessary.
