Pharmacist | Kittanning, Pennsylvania

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise within a supportive healthcare setting serving long-term care facilities, personal care centers, and hospice patients. The position is based in Kittanning, PA, with a 3-month contract to hire arrangement, working 40 hours per week in a pharmacy operating Monday through Friday, 8 am–6 pm, Saturday 8 am–4 pm, and Sunday 8 am–3 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing, personal care, and hospice facilities
• Inspect blister-packed medications, as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations for accuracy and compliance
• Respond to inquiries from nursing facility staff, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance
• Accurately count controlled substances and maintain documentation in the perpetual inventory system
• Review and manage emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1-year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care (LTC)
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and lifting up to 30 pounds
