A specialty pharmacy in Lake Charles, LA, is seeking a knowledgeable staff pharmacist for a contract role covering maternity leave from early May through mid-August. This position plays a critical role in supporting an existing pharmacist and ensuring seamless pharmacy operations for an average of 600 specialty and retail prescriptions per month.

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Job Type: Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage, early May to mid-August)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekends or on-call duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform typical staff pharmacist duties including prescription verification, dispensing, and counseling patients.
• Support and collaborate with the current staff pharmacist to maintain operational efficiency.
• Utilize Epic Willow Ambulatory for order entry and prescription management.
• Participate in a 1-2 week training period prior to coverage start to become proficient with pharmacy systems and workflow.

Desired Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist in Louisiana, in good standing.
• Experience in specialty pharmacy and retail pharmacy settings is essential.
• Ability to work within a small pharmacy team consisting of one pharmacist, one pharmacy technician, and one pharmacy liaison.
