Pharmacist | Lake Charles, Louisiana

This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist position supporting a specialty pharmacy with a focus on both specialty and retail pharmacy dispensing. The role centers on maintaining smooth pharmacy operations during a maternity leave period, providing consistent and quality service to a steady patient base of approximately 600 prescriptions per month.

Location: Lake Charles, LA
Job Type: Contract (Maternity leave coverage from early May through mid-August)
Schedule/Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No weekend or on-call duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform standard staff pharmacist duties, including dispensing and medication management
• Support and collaborate with the existing staff pharmacist
• Utilize the Epic Willow Ambulatory (Epic WAM) order entry system for prescription processing
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in Louisiana with credentials in good standing
• Experience in specialty pharmacy and retail settings preferred
• Familiarity or willingness to learn the Epic Willow Ambulatory dispensing system
• Commitment to professional standards and patient care excellence

Team Structure and Support:

• Work alongside one staff pharmacist, one pharmacy technician, and one pharmacy liaison
• Pharmacy technician support provided for prescription input, filling, and communication

Additional Details:

• Training provided 1-2 weeks before coverage begins to ensure smooth transition
• Professional dress code: dark grey scrubs
