This opportunity is seeking a Pharmacist with expertise in Long Term Care (LTC) settings, offering a Contract to Hire position. The role is based locally in Lakeville, MN, with day and afternoon shifts available. The position requires a commitment to accuracy, patient care, and collaborative work with healthcare teams in a nursing facility environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review prescriptions from physicians and authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and proper medication formulation
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using established standards, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
- Oversee pharmacy staff involved in mixing, packaging, and labeling medications
- Dispense medications in compliance with applicable regulations
- Counsel nursing facility staff on prescription and over-the-counter medication usage
- Maintain thorough documentation and support quality assurance practices within the pharmacy
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current state licensure and good standing
- Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy or similar healthcare environments
- Knowledge of compounding sterile and non-sterile medications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescription review
- Ability to direct and collaborate with pharmacy staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills for counseling healthcare providers and nursing staff
