A specialty retail pharmacy is urgently seeking a skilled pharmacist to support their Lakewood, OH location on a 4-6 week contract, starting November 19th. This role requires a compassionate professional experienced in managing complex patients who typically take 8-15 medications daily, often dealing with advanced chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. The patient population includes Medicare/Medicaid recipients and low-income individuals, many with low literacy levels, demanding patience and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert medication dispensing and counseling to patients with complex, chronic illnesses
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and patient records efficiently
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize therapeutic outcomes
• Demonstrate empathy and clear communication to ensure patient understanding and adherence
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist license for Ohio
• Strong retail and specialty pharmacy background
• Proven experience working with chronic disease patients and complex medication regimens
• Excellent patient consultation skills with an emphasis on compassion and clarity

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
