An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support a 45-bed community hospital in Bakersfield, CA. This contract position offers the chance to bring your expertise to a facility utilizing Cerner IT systems, providing comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and manage medications in accordance with hospital protocols and Cerner system workflows
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety
  • Monitor patient medication therapies and make necessary adjustments based on clinical and laboratory data
  • Participate in medication reconciliation and educate patients and staff on pharmaceutical care

Qualifications:

  • Current CA Pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2-3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, specifically Cerner, is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Schedule and Location:

  • 4 shifts per week, each 10 hours long
  • Variable days and afternoon shifts, starting either at 7:30 AM or 1:30 PM
  • Assignment based in Bakersfield, CA
  • Immediate start date with a duration of approximately 13 weeks
