Pharmacist - Laurel, MD

This opportunity is for a full-time Staff Pharmacist position at a specialty pharmacy focused on behavioral health medications. The role calls for a strong candidate with experience in behavioral medications to provide expert pharmacy services on a contract basis for a minimum duration of 6 weeks.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 3 to 5 days per week (3 days preferred, but 5 days considered if desired)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify prescriptions accurately and efficiently
• Provide thorough patient counseling regarding medications and therapy
• Oversee and manage the pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth operations
• Collaborate with another pharmacist to ensure continuous coverage and quality patient care

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Maryland Pharmacist license in good standing with no disciplinary action
• Prior retail or specialty pharmacy experience is preferred
• Strong preference for candidates with experience handling behavioral health medications

Pharmacy Environment:

• Prescription volume ranges from 100 to 200 per day
• Utilizes PioneerRX pharmacy system
• Team includes 5 pharmacy technicians and 2 pharmacists covering shifts
