An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager at a 48-bed rehabilitation hospital located in Lenexa, KS. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide direct patient care while overseeing pharmacy operations in a supportive healthcare environment. The pharmacy serves an average daily census of 45 patients, with hours of operation from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key responsibilities include acting as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC), managing pharmacy staffing, and ensuring smooth daily operations alongside a dedicated team comprising one full-time pharmacist and two pharmacy technicians. Weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage may be required, supported by a rotating team of six PRN pharmacists. The hospital utilizes the Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis for automation.

Candidates must have experience with IV compounding, though chemotherapy compounding is not part of this role. This position offers 40 hours per week of active pharmacy practice with leadership responsibilities—including supervision of one technician per shift.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Pharmacist eligible to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, particularly Wellsky
  • Experience with Pyxis automation system
  • IV compounding expertise required
  • Ability to provide flexible coverage, including weekends and on-call shifts
