Pharmacist - Levittown, Pennsylvania

A pharmacy professional is needed to provide pharmaceutical care at a major academic medical center known for its strong research, teaching mission, and Level 1 Trauma Center designation. This opportunity offers a rewarding setting serving a diverse and underserved urban community, catering to high-acuity patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Location: Levittown, PA
Type: Contract (3 to 6 months)
Schedule:

• AM Shift: 07:00 – 15:30
• 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and dispense medication orders from physicians and extenders, ensuring accuracy in drug, dose, frequency, and route.
• Assess patient allergies, medical history, drug interactions, and lab data to identify clinical conflicts.
• Manage inventory control and provide drug information to healthcare team members.
• Supervise pharmacy students and technicians during medication preparation for safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care planning and discharge processes.
• Adhere to medication safety and quality assurance protocols, especially when handling medication errors or high-dose responses.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License in good standing (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited program; PharmD preferred.
• Minimum 1-year hospital experience or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in clinical settings preferred.
• Experience with sterile compounding and IV room required.
• Proficiency with EPIC Dispense Prep and EPIC camera verification system is strongly preferred; candidates must demonstrate adaptability if unfamiliar.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Commitment to a full 3 to 6-month contract period is mandatory.
