A well-established ambulatory infusion therapy clinic is seeking a Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to provide expert clinical pharmacy support in home infusion services. This role focuses on delivering high-quality IV and infusion care for patients with acute and chronic medical needs, operating in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Location: Portland, ME
Job Type: Per Diem (PRN)
Schedule:

  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
  • Additional PRN coverage available as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and process physician orders, verifying insurance benefits to ensure timely patient care
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations adhering to USP 797 standards
  • Safely dispense medications and infusion-related supplies while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and the broader healthcare team to coordinate care
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain workflow and quality assurance
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for colleagues as required

Qualifications:

  • Active Maine Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Demonstrated infusion therapy and sterile compounding expertise
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, time management, and critical-thinking abilities
