Per Diem Pharmacist | Lewiston, Maine

A healthcare facility specializing in ambulatory infusion therapy is seeking a Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to support its IV and infusion services for patients with acute and chronic medical needs. This role provides clinical pharmacy expertise on a recurring basis, ensuring safe medication dispensing and compliance with regulatory standards.

Schedule:

• Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling
• Additional ongoing PRN coverage as needed

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and process physician orders, verify insurance benefits
• Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations
• Dispense medications and infusion-related supplies safely and accurately
• Maintain detailed patient and pharmacy records in compliance with federal and state regulations
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
• Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide pharmacist coverage as needed

Qualifications:

• Active Pharmacist License in Maine, in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience
• Preferred: 2+ years clinical pharmacy experience
• Required experience in infusion therapy and sterile compounding
• Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
• Strong skills in communication, multitasking, time management, and critical thinking
