A Retail Pharmacist position is available for a 13-week contract assignment in Likely, CA, starting ASAP. This role operates under the direction of the Retail Pharmacy Manager, managing all aspects of retail pharmaceutical services including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications while ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and required pharmaceutical formulas.
- Supervise pharmacy staff engaged in medication preparation and packaging.
- Provide information on drug interactions, dosages, and side effects to patients.
- Maintain quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper waste disposal.
- Handle pharmacy record keeping, inventory management, and third-party Rx system issues.
- Instruct pharmacy interns and ensure compliance with pharmacist-to-technician ratios.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers.
- Respond effectively to customer inquiries and difficult situations.
- Promote sales while controlling expenses and adhering to pharmacy policies.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with pharmacy laws and programs.
- Ensure safety, security, sanitation, and housekeeping standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing to practice in California.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on retail pharmaceutical services.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate at all organizational levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of compiling detailed data reports.
- Demonstrated professionalism and time management in fast-paced environments.
- Commitment to maintaining continuing education for professional competence.
Shift Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shifts.
