Join a professional pharmacy team providing critical inpatient services at a hospital setting in Likely, CA. This 13-week contract role starts ASAP and is ideal for a pharmacist with recent hospital inpatient experience seeking a challenging and rewarding assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inpatient pharmaceutical services under the direction of the Pharmaceutical Services Director.
- Oversee procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications within compliance of State and Federal regulations.
- Review operation of drug distribution systems to ensure efficiency and regulatory adherence.
- Provide drug information and consult with healthcare professionals as needed.
- Maintain and update Pharmacy Services Policy and Procedure Manual to meet legal and accreditation standards.
- Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, recommending improvements in accountability, policies, and procedures.
- Review inpatient medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Verify patients’ home medications prior to facility use.
- Maintain all pharmaceutical inventories including crash carts and specialty boxes.
- Ensure quality assurance, controlled substances security, and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
- Complete related administrative and compliance tasks on schedule.
- Provide weekend retail pharmacy coverage and after-hours on-call pharmacist services on shift days.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license and recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the past three years.
- Strong knowledge of inpatient drug distribution systems and regulatory compliance.
