Pharmacist in Lompoc, CA

A healthcare facility in Lompoc, CA, is seeking a licensed pharmacist with hospital experience for a 13-week contract position. This role is designed to support pharmacy services for a mixed patient population, including 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds. The pharmacist will play a key role in ensuring medication safety and effective pharmaceutical care.

Schedule/Hours:

• Variable days and afternoons
• Four 10-hour shifts per week

Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification and ensure accuracy of medication dispensing
• Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians
• Consult and collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff for optimal patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetics principles to dosing and therapeutic decisions
• Utilize Altera Sunrise pharmacy IT system (training provided as needed)

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid California pharmacist license
• Current or recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to a less common pharmacy IT system with provided training
• Strong communication and clinical consultation skills
