Pharmacist - Lompoc, CA

This contract opportunity offers a rewarding role for a licensed pharmacist in California, providing pharmacy services to a healthcare facility with 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds. The position requires a flexible schedule with variable days and afternoon shifts, working four 10-hour days per week. The assignment begins ASAP and is expected to last 26 weeks or longer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with protocols
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
• Manage pharmacokinetics and medication dosing adjustments
• Utilize Altera Sunrise pharmacy software (training provided)

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active California pharmacist license is essential
• Previous hospital or acute care pharmacy experience preferred
• Ability to adapt to a less common pharmacy IT system with provided training
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
