A well-established Los Angeles County Department of Health hospital requires experienced pharmacists to support inpatient pharmacy operations. This contract opportunity is ideal for pharmacists with a PGY1 residency or approximately two years of recent inpatient experience, positioned to transition into a permanent role within a leading public health system.

Location:

  • Long Beach, CA (Harbor UCLA Medical Center)

Schedule:

  • Variable days/afternoons
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications to inpatients
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory pharmacy standards
  • Participate in competency assessments to maintain clinical proficiency
  • Support pharmacy operations to meet patient care and safety goals

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing
  • PGY1 residency preferred; minimum two years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to pass a competency examination on the first attempt
  • Experience in hospital or acute care pharmacy settings
  • Ability to work variable afternoon shifts
  • Willingness to complete background screenings and hospital-specific onboarding
