A full-time Pharmacist is needed for a night shift position starting Monday, May 11th. This role addresses a critical need due to a Pyxis system crisis, with state mandates requiring pharmacist presence overnight. The assignment is expected to last at least eight weeks.
Schedule:
- Full-time night shift
- Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts
- Some flexibility in scheduling available
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Pharmacist license
- Recent graduates and retail pharmacists are encouraged to apply
- Must be compliant with Soliant requirements to start promptly
Location:
- Long Beach, CA
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Oversee pharmacy technicians ensuring safe and compliant practices
- Consult with nursing staff and physicians regarding patient care
- Apply pharmacokinetics knowledge to optimize medication therapy
- Utilize Paragon/Allscripts for order entry and management
- Manage automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) and address related operational issues
Facility Information:
- Licensed for 117 beds
- Average daily census of 44 patients
- Specialty focus on Pyxis automated systems
