Pharmacist in Long Beach, CA

A full-time Pharmacist opportunity is available in the Los Angeles area, offering a dynamic work environment within a network of hospitals located close to Norwalk. This contract role requires providing day and afternoon coverage with potential floating to sister facilities within a 10 to 15-mile radius, enhancing professional flexibility and engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and process medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Oversee pharmacy technician activities to maintain optimal workflow
• Consult with nursing staff and physicians to ensure safe and effective medication use
• Participate in pharmacokinetic monitoring and adjustments as needed
• Utilize Allscripts/Paragon order entry system for medication management
• Manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to streamline pharmacy operations

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist license in good standing
• Experience working with order entry systems, preferably Allscripts/Paragon
• Familiarity with automated dispensing systems such as Pyxis
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively

Position is based near Long Beach, CA with travel expected to nearby hospitals within the Norwalk vicinity.
