A pharmacist opportunity is available at a healthcare facility with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. This contract role offers an 8 to 13+ week duration with coverage hours varying between day and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities include:

• Verifying medication orders and ensuring accuracy
• Providing supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians
• Consulting with nursing staff and physicians to optimize patient care
• Managing pharmacokinetic monitoring and adjustments
• Utilizing the Paragon/Allscripts order entry system for efficient workflow
• Operating Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to support medication distribution

This position may require floating to nearby sister hospitals located within a 10-15 mile radius, offering diverse clinical exposure and collaborative practice opportunities.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist license in good standing
• Proficiency with Paragon and Allscripts electronic order entry systems
• Experience with medication dispensing automation such as Pyxis
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary consultation
• Ability to adapt to variable shift schedules, including days and afternoons
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Location: Long Beach, CA area, with potential assignment to facilities in Norwalk and surrounding vicinity.
