This contract role, lasting 8 to 13 weeks and possibly longer, involves supporting a hospital with 117 licensed beds and an average daily census of 44 patients. The position requires adaptability to cover variable day and afternoon shifts, ensuring seamless pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, and consulting closely with nursing and medical staff to optimize patient medication therapies. A strong understanding of pharmacokinetics is essential to contribute effectively to patient care decisions. The facility utilizes the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system alongside Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, so familiarity with these technologies will be beneficial.

Pharmacists should be prepared to float among sister hospitals within a 10 to 15-mile radius of Norwalk, providing flexible support as needed. This fosters a collaborative environment and broadens professional experience within the healthcare network.
