A Managed Care Pharmacist role is available for a remote, Monday through Friday schedule. This opportunity focuses on delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services by collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure evidence-based, cost-effective care for health plan members. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care through Medication Therapy Management (MTM) programs.
- Manage population-based disease programs and specialty pharmaceutical acquisition.
- Perform drug utilization reviews and contribute to clinical policy development.
- Collaborate with medical directors, nurse case managers, network physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Communicate therapeutic recommendations effectively to influence patient care decisions.
- Educate and consult with healthcare team members internally and externally.
- Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T) Committee activities.
- Maintain professional development and stay current with clinical pharmacy advancements.
- Manage complex tasks efficiently in a constantly evolving healthcare environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Pharmacist license in Oregon, Washington, or California is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managed care pharmacy setting, including expertise with prior authorizations, audits, appeals, and ALJ court hearings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities under tight timelines.
- Commitment to enhancing care quality and optimizing patient outcomes.
- Flexibility to work rare weekends only a few times per year.
