A healthcare facility in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to provide essential pharmacy services on a contract basis. This role supports a hospital with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. The position will initially cover approximately 8 weeks, with potential for month-to-month extension based on organizational needs.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: Contract, starting with an 8-week assignment
Coverage Hours: Variable day and afternoon shifts

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient workflow
• Consult with nursing staff and physicians regarding medication therapies
• Perform pharmacokinetic assessments and adjust treatments as needed
• Utilize the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system for processing orders
• Manage automated dispensing cabinets through the Pyxis system

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid pharmacist license in the state of California
• Experience working in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting
• Proficiency with Allscripts/Paragon electronic order entry systems
• Familiarity with automated dispensing cabinets, specifically Pyxis
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
