A healthcare facility in the Los Angeles area seeks a skilled Pharmacist to provide essential support due to current staffing shortages. This contract role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on patient care and medication management.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Job Type: Contract (initial 8 weeks, month-to-month thereafter)
Schedule: Variable day and afternoon shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with protocols
• Consult with nurses and physicians to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Manage pharmacokinetics and medication dosing adjustments
• Utilize order entry systems (Allscripts/Paragon) for documentation and processing
• Operate and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to ensure timely medication delivery

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active pharmacist license
• Experience with Allscripts and Paragon order entry systems
• Familiarity with Pyxis or similar automated dispensing technology
• Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacokinetics and medication therapy
• Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to supervise pharmacy support staff effectively
