Job Type: Contract (initial 8 weeks, month-to-month thereafter)
Schedule: Variable day and afternoon shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with protocols
- Consult with nurses and physicians to optimize pharmacotherapy
- Manage pharmacokinetics and medication dosing adjustments
- Utilize order entry systems (Allscripts/Paragon) for documentation and processing
- Operate and manage Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets to ensure timely medication delivery
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active pharmacist license
- Experience with Allscripts and Paragon order entry systems
- Familiarity with Pyxis or similar automated dispensing technology
- Strong clinical knowledge in pharmacokinetics and medication therapy
- Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to supervise pharmacy support staff effectively
