A full-time night shift pharmacist position is available to start immediately on Monday, 5/11. This important role responds to an emergency situation requiring pharmacist coverage on the night shift due to a Pyxis crisis and CDPH mandate.

This is a contract assignment expected to last at least eight weeks. The schedule will primarily be Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts, though some flexibility is possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety
  • Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff during the shift
  • Collaborate closely with nurses and physicians providing clinical pharmacy consultation
  • Apply pharmacokinetics principles to optimize medication use
  • Manage and troubleshoot Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets
  • Utilize Paragon/Allscripts order entry systems efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Pharmacist eligible to work in the US
  • New graduates and retail pharmacists are encouraged to apply
  • Must be compliant with Soliant requirements for immediate start
  • Experience with automated dispensing technology such as Pyxis preferred
  • Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork

Facility & Patient Details:

  • Licensed for 117 beds with an average daily census around 44 patients
  • Specialty in automated dispensing cabinet management and medication safety
