Pharmacist - Los Osos, California

An opportunity is available for experienced pharmacists to support inpatient pharmacy operations on the California Central Coast. Four pharmacists are needed to provide essential clinical services at a hospital setting in San Luis Obispo, CA, including order verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, consulting with healthcare providers, and managing pharmacokinetics.

Positions Available:

• Two pharmacists for day shifts, working four 10-hour days per week (7:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
• Two pharmacists for night shifts on a 7-on, 7-off schedule (9:00 PM to 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
• Oversee and coordinate the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance and safe practices
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nurses to optimize medication therapies
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to adjust dosing and monitor drug levels for patient safety

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current and valid California pharmacist license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records and Omnicell automation systems is highly desirable
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills

This is a contract assignment with an anticipated duration of 13 weeks or longer. Immediate start is preferred. Candidates should specify their availability for either day or night shifts when applying.
