A remote pharmacist opportunity is available with a healthcare organization offering a temp-to-hire position. This role focuses on managing Part B drug and biologic prior authorization requests and appeals, supporting clinical teams, and ensuring adherence to Medicare requirements. The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of working in a fast-paced environment with evolving workflows.

Location: Remote (candidates from any state with active pharmacist licensure are welcome) Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:30 PM EST
  • Mandatory weekend and holiday rotation
  • Limited days off except emergencies during contract period

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate Part B drug and biologic prior authorization requests and appeals with clinical expertise.
  • Apply clinical policies, utilization management criteria, and Medicare regulations to authorization decisions.
  • Provide support to internal clinical and non-clinical teams regarding Part B drug policies and workflows.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to review quality, accuracy, and operational processes.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities, volumes, and evolving business requirements while maintaining performance.

Qualifications:

  • PharmD degree and an active pharmacist license in at least one state.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in utilization management, managed care residency, or relevant specialty pharmacy.
  • Strong clinical judgment with proficiency in evaluating complex Part B drug requests independently.
  • Experience in Part B drug prior authorization and appeals review is essential.
  • Prior utilization management and prior authorization experience preferred.
  • Candidates with direct Medicare Part B utilization management or prior authorization background will be prioritized.

  • Contract duration: 6 months, with a temp-to-hire transition.
  • Competitive hourly compensation on contract; conversion to perm role also available.
