Pharmacist in Lynchburg, VA

A Pharmacist position is available to support a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital with an average daily census of approximately 10 patients. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a focused patient population in a hospital setting, providing comprehensive medication management and support to the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely according to hospital protocols.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness, contraindications, and potential interactions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
• Monitor patient responses to prescribed medications and provide follow-up as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Virginia.
• Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and hospital pharmacy operations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, day shift.

Location:

• Lynchburg, Virginia.
