Pharmacist in Lynchburg, VA

A Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join the team immediately for a contract assignment of 13 weeks or more. This Monday through Friday day-shift role involves working in a small hospital setting with an approximate patient census of 10 per day. The position offers an excellent opportunity to apply hospital pharmacy expertise within a focused, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to LTAC patients
• Review and verify medication orders in compliance with hospital policies and standards
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy
• Monitor patient responses and potential drug interactions
• Maintain accurate records of dispensed pharmaceuticals and inventory management
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations and standards

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia
• Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication therapy management, and patient safety protocols
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Able to work independently in a small hospital environment
