A Pharmacist position is available to support a small Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital with an average daily census of approximately 10 patients. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a focused patient population in a hospital setting, providing comprehensive medication management and support to the healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and safely according to hospital protocols.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, contraindications, and potential interactions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Monitor patient responses to prescribed medications and provide follow-up as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Virginia.
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and hospital pharmacy operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift.
Location:
- Lynchburg, Virginia.
This contract opportunity has an immediate start and is expected to last 13 weeks or longer. It provides a chance to work in a specialized LTAC environment with a manageable patient load, ideal for pharmacists with some hospital experience looking to expand their expertise.
