A rewarding opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to join a Macon, GA facility for a 9-week contract assignment. This role offers a dynamic environment where you will provide essential pharmaceutical care within a team dedicated to patient health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications.
  • Monitor patient compliance and identify patterns of over-usage.
  • Ensure medication supply complies with legal regulations.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files meticulously.
  • Offer expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential reactions, and answer queries.
  • Consult on both prescription and over-the-counter medications on storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on managing medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following proper protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold a valid Georgia pharmacist license.
  • Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred, though training will be provided for retail pharmacists new to this setting.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Weekend rotation may be required.

Location:

  • Macon, Georgia, conveniently situated approximately one hour south of Atlanta.
