This position offers a compelling role for an experienced pharmacist with a strong focus on medication safety and regulatory compliance in a leading pediatric hospital setting near Fresno, CA. Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy, the Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to medication management standards, promoting patient safety, and fostering best practices within the pharmacy department.

Schedule:

  • Days
  • 40 hours per week
  • Five 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with medication safety regulations and hospital policies.
  • Continuously evaluate and monitor pharmacy practices, leading evidence-based improvements supported by current literature and internal data.
  • Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures to support safe medication use and staff education.
  • Deliver training focused on patient safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as an advocate for patient safety, actively participating in the Medication Error Reporting Program (MERP).
  • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system to support medication safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (required).
  • Completion of an accredited residency program (preferred).
  • Registered Pharmacist license with the California State Board of Pharmacy (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be completed within the first 30 days of employment).
  • Additional certifications such as Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate (preferred).
  • Minimum of five years hospital or related pharmacy experience.
  • At least two years of management experience (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations, including The Joint Commission standards.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement pharmaceutical care processes collaboratively across teams.
