This position offers a compelling role for an experienced pharmacist with a strong focus on medication safety and regulatory compliance in a leading pediatric hospital setting near Fresno, CA. Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy, the Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to medication management standards, promoting patient safety, and fostering best practices within the pharmacy department.

- Five 8-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with medication safety regulations and hospital policies.
- Continuously evaluate and monitor pharmacy practices, leading evidence-based improvements supported by current literature and internal data.
- Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures to support safe medication use and staff education.
- Deliver training focused on patient safety and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as an advocate for patient safety, actively participating in the Medication Error Reporting Program (MERP).
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system to support medication safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (required).
- Completion of an accredited residency program (preferred).
- Registered Pharmacist license with the California State Board of Pharmacy (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (to be completed within the first 30 days of employment).
- Additional certifications such as Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate (preferred).
- Minimum of five years hospital or related pharmacy experience.
- At least two years of management experience (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations, including The Joint Commission standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement pharmaceutical care processes collaboratively across teams.
