DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY: Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist – Pediatric Hospital
A highly respected pediatric hospital located just outside Fresno is actively seeking a Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist to join their pharmacy leadership team. This direct hire role reports to the Director of Pharmacy and is pivotal in promoting medication safety and regulatory compliance across all pharmacy operations.

Schedule:
- Days
- 40 hours per week
- Five 8-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all medication management laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Evaluate and monitor pharmacy practices to promote best practices based on current evidence and internal data.
- Lead updates to policies and procedures to support safe medication use.
- Provide education and training related to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with hospital medical staff and multiple pharmacy leadership roles for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the patient advocate in medication safety efforts.
- Utilize Medication Error Reporting Program (MERP) knowledge and EMR systems such as EPIC in daily operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Completion of an accredited residency program preferred.
- Registered Pharmacist with the California State Board of Pharmacy (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed within 30 days of hire (required).
- Additional certifications such as Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate preferred.
- Minimum five years of hospital or related pharmacy experience; two years of management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and accrediting bodies like The Joint Commission.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
