This direct hire opportunity is for a Medication Safety/Compliance Pharmacist role at an award-winning pediatric hospital near Fresno, CA. Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy and collaborating closely with Pharmacy Leadership, this pharmacist will play a critical role in ensuring the pharmacy department adheres to medication safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include continuously evaluating current pharmacy practices to promote optimal, evidence-based care; leading policy updates; providing education and training on patient safety and regulatory topics; and collaborating with multidisciplinary hospital teams to foster positive change. Serving as a patient advocate, this role emphasizes medication safety and compliance in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree (required)
- Accredited residency program completion (preferred)
- Active California Registered Pharmacist license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, obtained within 30 days of hire (required)
- Additional certifications such as Board of Pharmacy Specialties or ASHP/ISMP Medication Safety Certificate (preferred)
- Minimum five years hospital or related pharmacy experience (required)
- Minimum two years management experience (preferred)
- Proficient knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulatory agencies, and medication error reporting programs (MERP experience highly preferred)
- Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Schedule & Location:
- Full-time, 40-hour workweek
- Dayshift: five 8-hour shifts
- Location: Madera, CA
