An experienced pharmacist is needed to provide specialized pharmaceutical care for pediatric patients in a recognized pediatric hospital setting near Fresno, CA. This direct hire opportunity focuses on advanced inpatient pharmacy practice within hematology/oncology, specifically supporting CAR-T therapy and bone marrow transplants.
Responsibilities include collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective drug therapy from physician order review through administration and outcome monitoring. The role involves serving as a pharmacology consultant and patient advocate, providing clinical pharmaceutical services aligned with best practices in pediatric inpatient care. Support for FACT accreditation, staff development, and training of pharmacy students and residents is essential.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
- Completion of an ASHP Accredited Residency Program preferred
- PGY2 residency in oncology preferred
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred
- Registered Pharmacist license in California (CA-SBP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 12 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) encouraged especially for PICU, Emergency Department, or overnight shifts
- Minimum two years of pediatric oncology experience preferred
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
Schedule includes primarily 10-hour day shifts with some weekends and limited evenings or overnight shifts, reflecting 24/7 inpatient pharmacy operations.
