An advanced pharmacy professional opportunity is available in a renowned pediatric hospital setting specializing in hematology and oncology, focusing on CAR-T therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). This direct hire role requires providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care for neonates through young adults, actively engaging as a pharmacology consultant and patient advocate within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and effective drug therapy management from physician order review through administration and outcome evaluation in a pediatric inpatient environment.
- Support advanced pharmacy practices primarily related to hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT), including CAR-T and BMT therapies.
- Assist in maintaining FACT accreditation by meeting core competencies and completing required continuing education.
- Serve as a resource and preceptor by training pharmacy students, PGY-1, and PGY-2 residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize pharmacologic care for pediatric oncology patients.
- Operate effectively in a 24/7 inpatient pharmacy setting, working 10-hour mixed shifts with a focus on days and some weekends, including limited evenings or overnight coverage.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, with completion of an ASHP-accredited residency preferred.
- PGY2 residency in Oncology and Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) credentials highly preferred.
- Minimum of two years pediatric oncology pharmacy experience desirable.
- Registered Pharmacist license in California.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification encouraged for select clinical areas.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system preferred.
