Join a leading pediatric healthcare environment focused on hematology and oncology pharmacy practice specialized in CAR-T and bone marrow transplant therapies. This direct hire opportunity offers the chance to provide advanced pharmaceutical care for neonates through young adults in a dynamic inpatient pediatric setting.

Location: Madera, CA

Position Overview: Accountable for delivering safe, effective drug therapy management from order review through administration and monitoring of outcomes. Serve as a pharmacology consultant, patient advocate, and fiscal steward collaborating with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams. Support a 24/7 inpatient pharmacy operation with mixed shifts primarily consisting of 10-hour day shifts, some weekends, and limited evenings or overnight coverage. This role directly contributes to FACT accreditation requirements and supports staff mentorship including pharmacy students and postgraduate residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert pharmaceutical care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients, including those undergoing hematopoietic cell transplant and CAR-T therapies
  • Review and verify physician drug orders, ensuring safe medication practices and therapeutic efficacy
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and educate staff
  • Maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standards, advancing pharmacy practice in a pediatric inpatient setting
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical record system for accurate documentation and communication

Desired Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree (required)
  • California Registered Pharmacist License
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited residency program (preferred)
  • PGY-2 Oncology residency and/or BCOP certification (preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years pediatric oncology pharmacy experience preferred
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) encouraged
  • Strong pharmacology application skills and commitment to continuing education
