A healthcare facility in Madison, WI is seeking two experienced inpatient pharmacists for a 13-week contract starting March 30. This role offers a dynamic schedule with a mix of day (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) and evening (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM) shifts, working five 8-hour shifts per week and rotating every third weekend.
Qualified candidates must have at least two years of recent inpatient pharmacy experience and proven skills in acute care settings. Proficiency in pharmacokinetic and renal dosing, therapeutic medication monitoring, managing drug shortages, and pharmacotherapy for various medical conditions is essential. Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is required. The facility accepts the ACT-10 license for Wisconsin.
Due to infection control protocols, travelers must be clean-shaven to pass mask fit testing; powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) or controlled air-purifying respirators (CAPRs) will not be provided or allowed for personal use. Scrubs are supplied upon starting the assignment.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct inpatient pharmaceutical care, including pharmacotherapy management and medication dosing
- Monitoring drug therapies for efficacy and safety in acute care patients
- Addressing drug shortages and ensuring appropriate medication use
- Documenting care accurately within the EPIC system
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience with acute care exposure
- Licensure in Wisconsin or eligibility through ACT-10 license agreement
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR software
- Ability to pass infection control mask fit testing (clean-shaven)
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
