A hospital pharmacy position is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a 200-bed medical center in Tucson, AZ. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Candidates with flexibility to work nights, especially a 7-on/7-off night schedule, are highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with physicians on medication selection, dosing, and management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate nursing staff, patients, and medical providers about proper medication use and safety.
  • Initiate and support medication safety programs to prevent adverse drug events.
  • Review patient profiles for therapeutic appropriateness and adherence.
  • Identify, report, and help prevent adverse drug reactions.
  • Prepare and mix IV admixtures and nutritional supplements accurately.
  • Maintain narcotic inventory and ensure strict accountability protocols.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and hospital medication protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Effective communication skills for educating healthcare staff and patients.
  • Willingness to work day, afternoon, or night shifts; preference for candidates able to work a 7-on/7-off night schedule.

Work Schedule:

  • Multiple shifts available: days, afternoons, or nights.
  • Start date: Immediate availability preferred.
  • Contract duration: Approximately 13 weeks.
