Pharmacist | Marksville, Louisiana

A pharmacist opportunity is available at a 200+ bed community hospital located in a vibrant Louisiana city. This contract position offers a chance to contribute critical expertise in a dynamic hospital pharmacy setting.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedules including early morning, day, and evening shifts (6 AM–4:30 PM, 7 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11 PM)
• Every other weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders with accuracy and attention to detail
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, fostering efficient workflow and compliance
• Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to optimize patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to tailor medication therapy
• Utilize IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to support pharmacy operations

Desired Qualifications:

• Active pharmacist license to practice in Louisiana
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Strong communication skills to effectively consult with healthcare teams
• Previous experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
