Pharmacist | Marksville, Louisiana

An immediate opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a well-established 200+ bed community hospital. This contract position offers a dynamic work environment where clinical expertise and collaboration with healthcare teams are essential.

Location: Marksville, LA (near Alexandria, LA)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Rotating schedules including: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Every Other Weekend rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee daily operations
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies
• Manage pharmacokinetics dosing and monitoring for patients
• Utilize hospital IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to support pharmacy operations

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, valid Pharmacist license
• Experience working in a hospital or similar acute care setting
• Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems preferred
• Strong communication skills for effective interdisciplinary collaboration
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
