This opportunity seeks a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations at an Opioid Treatment Center. The position is part-time with a one-year contract, offering potential for extension or permanent hire. The role is based in Alexandria, Louisiana and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing daily pharmacy activities and ensuring smooth operations.
- Conduct thorough chart reviews and maintain precise documentation.
- Verify prescriptions for accuracy and completeness.
- Fill prescriptions when pharmacy technicians are not available.
- Complete internal reporting and documentation utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Operate independently during times without technician support.
- Limited direct patient interaction unless specifically requested.
- No billing or insurance processing duties.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience.
- Prior experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment settings is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
