Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) – Part-Time Opportunity in Alexandria, LA

This position offers a rewarding opportunity to lead pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge at an Opioid Treatment Center specializing in patient-centered care. The role is part-time and contract-based with potential for extension or transition to direct hire.

Location:

  • Alexandria, Louisiana

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
  • 5:00 AM – 10:00 AM
  • 20 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge
  • Perform comprehensive chart reviews and maintain meticulous documentation
  • Verify and fill prescriptions independently when pharmacy technician support is unavailable
  • Prepare internal reports and manage forms using Microsoft Excel
  • Ensure strict compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Limited patient interaction unless specifically requested
  • No responsibilities related to billing or insurance processing

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative disciplinary history
  • 3 to 5 years of professional pharmacy experience
  • Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment settings preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and documentation
