An opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to support a large 500-bed hospital in York, PA. This contract role requires a licensed professional with strong inpatient pharmacy skills and specialized experience in oncology and chemotherapy medications. The position offers a 13+ week assignment with a variable schedule, including days and afternoons, allowing for some flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow and compliance
- Consult with physicians regarding therapeutic drug management and patient care
- Utilize pharmacokinetics principles to optimize medication dosing
- Manage oncology and chemotherapy medication preparation and safety protocols
- Use IT systems including EPIC for electronic medical records and Pyxis for medication dispensing
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania
- Several years of inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system is essential
- Experience in oncology pharmacy and chemotherapy medication management
- Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across clinical teams
